Our research program aims to provide an understanding of collective outcomes (mechanical and evolutionary) in living systems. At the heart of our approach are experimental probes of theory driven ideas. Read more ...
2017/11 Flow-induced phase separation and the effect of hydrodynamic confinement on collective dynamics in populations of self-propelled particles. Our latest preprint on the arXiv.
2017/09 Bacterial populations as condensed active matter: our recent work on phase transitions underlying bacterial aggregation is now out as a preprint on the arXiv.
2017/08 We have some new entrants in the lab: Manoj Kumar joins our group as a postdoc after finishing his PhD at NCL, Pune in soft matter physics. Vidhya Lakshmi joins as a research fellow after being a JRF at CMC, Vellore. Welcome aboard.
2017/05 We welcome a new postdoc and bid adieu to the undergraduates in the lab. Godwin Stephenson comes after his PhD at Cambridge University. Anurag, Pranav and Naga Teja are off to grad school- we will miss you guys and good luck on the new shores!
2017/04 This week, we inaugurate our Max Planck Partner Group with a one day symposium bringing together scientists from across institutes in Bangalore.
2017/04 Dr. Jeffrey Philippson starts as a visiting postdoc in our group. We're hoping to kickstart some of our ideas on high-throughput microscopy setups during his time here. A warm welcome, Jeff!
2017/03 Great news from the undergrads in the lab. Anurag and Pranav get into all the top grad school programs in the US - plenty of riches to choose from. Congratulations guys!
